I work methodically, favoring processes that take a lot of physical time. Dedicating large amounts of time to small tasks such as stitching or embroidery allows my mind to work as I craft an understanding of the object I am creating. Each work has a fully realized life of its own, a strong personality. This personality adds to the feelings of the uncanny as the work occupies space or presents itself to the viewer. Those unexplainable gut reactions driven by human instinct are what drive my practice I tap into nostalgia by using symbolism, mythology, and fantasy.
